About Me

Welcome to Tannaz Adina Meimand's Hand Crafted Pottery & Ceramic Art, where clay comes alive to tell stories and add beauty to your everyday life.

Education

My journey into the world of art began with a Middle-East History major at Tel Aviv University. However, my passion for creativity led me to switch gears and pursue Art History at Santa Monica College. It was during this time that I discovered my love for ceramic arts and embarked on a deep dive into this captivating medium. I had the privilege of working with several talented potters and ceramic artists in Tel Aviv before moving to Kibbutz Misgav-Am, where my true artistic journey began at Tel Hai College of ceramic arts in the Northern Galilee, Israel.

Experience

Over the years, I have honed my skills and explored various techniques in ceramic artistry. My journey has been filled with experimentation, growth, and an unwavering dedication to my craft. Each experience has contributed to my unique artistic voice, allowing me to express myself through the tactile beauty of clay. Each step has been a learning process, allowing me to grow as a creator and develop my unique artistic voice. The combination of my educational background and hands-on experience has provided me with a well-rounded understanding of the craft.

Artistic Vision

What motivates me to create art is the belief that clay has a story to tell. We eat from it, decorate our homes with it, and live with these vessels throughout our lives. They become a part of our personal narratives, just as archeological discoveries unveil the stories of past civilizations. My work reflects a blend of influences, with some pieces showcasing tribal inspirations through intricate carvings, while others embody a minimalist and modern art deco style, perfectly suited for contemporary homes. Rustic elements also find their way into my creations, depending on the clay and materials that inspire me during the artistic process.

Creative Process

When bringing my ideas to life, I predominantly use stoneware and porcelain clays. Most of my pieces are wheel thrown, employing traditional techniques, and infused with my personal touch. In addition, I incorporate my hand-marbled stained clays, adding a unique and mesmerizing visual element to the final pieces.

Influences

The primary influence in my work is the symbiotic relationship between clay and life. Clay, originating from the earth, is molded using water, dried with air, and ultimately transformed by the element of fire. Throughout history, the earth has sustained us by cradling our food and preserving it. Pottery pieces, in their journey from creation to eventual return to the earth, bear witness to the story of civilizations that came before us. This cyclical nature and connection with our ancestral heritage deeply inspire my creations.

Future Plans

In the near future, I am working on preparing for upcoming shows, exhibitions, and projects that will enable me to connect with art enthusiasts and fellow ceramic lovers. My ultimate goal is to continue refining my craft, exploring new artistic avenues, and making a meaningful impact through my ceramic creations.
Thank you for joining me on this artistic journey, where I hope to bring joy, inspiration, and a touch of handmade beauty to your world & home.

Exhibitions

I am thrilled to announce that I will be showcasing my work in person at the Pacific Palisades Farmers Market, starting from July 9th. This will be an exciting opportunity to connect with the local community and share my artistic expressions directly with visitors. I am looking forward to engaging with art enthusiasts, fellow artists, and collectors at this event.

In addition to the Pacific Palisades Farmers Market, I am actively exploring new markets and exhibition opportunities to expand the reach of my work. As my artistic journey progresses, I am committed to participating in future exhibitions and shows that will provide me with the chance to connect with a broader audience. I believe that experiencing art in person is a powerful and transformative experience, and I am excited to bring my creations to different venues and events.
